Your First Steps
Starting therapy can feel like a big deal, and it is. But it doesn't have to be complicated. Here's a clear picture of how things work at Strength Within Counseling so you know exactly what you're walking into.
Three Simple Steps
Reach Out
Request an appointment or send a secure message. You'll share a few basics: your name, contact info, and a brief note about what brings you in. That's it.
Free Consultation
We'll set up a brief phone call to talk about what you're going through and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. There's no pressure and no commitment. This is just a chance to see if we're a good fit for each other.
First Session
Before your session, you'll complete some intake paperwork online through our secure client portal. During the session itself, we'll spend time getting to know each other, talk about your goals, and start building a plan together.
What Sessions Look Like
Sessions are typically 60 minutes long. Most clients start with weekly appointments, which helps build momentum and keep things moving. As you progress, we can adjust the frequency to fit where you are.
All sessions happen over secure, HIPAA-compliant video. You can connect from anywhere in Texas, whether you're in Killeen, across the state, or on a military installation. All you need is a private space and a stable internet connection. No driving, no waiting rooms.
This is your time. You set the pace. Some sessions will feel heavy, and some will feel lighter. Both are part of the process. We'll work at a speed that makes sense for you, not a rigid script.
And if at any point you feel like it's not the right fit, that's okay. A good therapist wants you to find the right support, even if it's somewhere else. We're happy to help you find a referral if needed.
Still Have Questions?

Ready to Get Started?
You don't have to have it all figured out before reaching out. That's what we're here for.
